The quantity of phenolic compounds, concentration of flavonoids and antioxidant activity were analysed by menas of speectrophotometric methods in methanol, ethanol, acetate and ethyl acetate extract of the species Teucrium fruticans L., T. flavum L. and T. chamaedrys L. (Lamiaceae). The total quantity of phenolic compounds ranged from 45,91 to 271,47 mg GA/g of extract. The concentration of flavonoids varied from 40,56 to 123,64 mg Ru/g of extract. The greatest quantity of phenolic compounds was measured in the methanol extract of the species T. chamaedrys, whereas the highest concentration of flavonoids was found in the acetone extract of the species T. fruticans. The antioxidant activity was within the range of values between 129,33 and 6,45 µg/ml. The highest antioxidant activity was observed in the methanol extract of the species T. chamaedrys, the one in which the greatest quantity of phenolic compounds was found as well. Najvišu antioksidativnu aktivnost ispoljava metanolni ekstrakt vrste T. chamaedrys

Mathematical Modeling of Heat Transfer of Liquefied Natural Gas Engines

    Get PDF
The article presents a mathematical model for pressure growth in the line supplying the engine KAMAZ with cryogenic fuel under specific insulation conditions. By using the heat balance equation the model in a simple linear form is obtained. This makes the model suitable for use in solving practical tasks related to the design of a liquefied natural gas engine fuel system. According to the above-mentioned method, the geometric parameters of the section of the main elements are determined under different external conditions and the boundary parameters of the gas fuel (maximum and minimum values of pressure, temperature, and flow). These data are necessary to determine the consumption, hydraulic and project features of the project. Fuel pipes are optimized (for hydraulic resistance, pressure and flow impulses, structural strength) to improve the accuracy of fuel dosing. The adequacy of the model was tested on a special modified test stand

Antioxidant activity, total concentration of phenolic compounds and flavonoids were analyzed in water, methanol and ethyl acetate extracts of the species Petrorhagia saxifraga. Total concentration of phenolics ranged from 41,21 to 48,50 mg GA/g of the extract. The concentration of flavonoids varied from 24,64 to 69,67 mg RU/g of the extract. The greatest quantity of phenolic compounds was observed in the ethyl acetate extract, whereas the analyses showed that the methanolic extract contained the highest concentration of flavonoids. The values for antioxidant activity ranged from 874,56 to 672,33 µg/ml. The highest IC50 values were observed in the ethyl acetate extract.Antioksidativna aktivnost, količina ukupnih fenolnih jedinjenja i flavonoida analizirani su spektrofotometrijskim metodama u vodenom, metanolnom i etil acetatnom ekstraktu vrste Petrorhagia saxifraga (L.) Link (Caryophyllaceae).

The aim of this study is to determine the qualitative variability and relative presence of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons in essential oils samples of Teucrium montanum L. collected from two different substrate types. Four samples of essential oils from serpentinite and four from calcareous were obtained by the method of hydrodistillation from aboveground plant parts. Based on the results, it was shown that populations from serpentinite habitats synthesize 2 times more sesquiterpenes than from calcareous ones, while the compound 6-epi-β-cubeben was detected only in populations from calcareous. Edaphic characteristics of habitats affect the qualitative composition and relative presence of sesquiterpenes in essential oils, which has a significant application in biotechnology.Publishe

PERCEPTIONS ON SUPPORT, CHALLENGES AND NEEDS AMONG PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH AUTISM: THE SERBIAN EXPERIENCE

Background: Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) significantly impact lives of affected individuals and their families. They confront daunting challenges and multiple demands in their daily life, when compared to parents of children with other disabilities or parents of typically developing children. Subjects and methods: Participants completed The Caregiver Needs Survey, the survey intended for parents or primary caregivers of children with a diagnosis of ASD. During the study, 231 parents were interviewed; 167 mothers and 64 fathers. Parents were recruited from the patient database comprised of families from the two largest cities in Serbia. All of them were contacted before the study, either via phone or at the child’s regular check-in visit. Results: Over 90 percent of the parents reported that additional support at schools, home, and improved relationships with service providers are necessary and important. The most important challenges related to care were child’s communication difficulties, social interaction difficulties, and problems with daily living skills. The significant predictors of lower overall satisfaction were parent’s higher education, having a first concern related to problems of the child’s interaction with others or playing alone, and parent frustration with accessing services in the past 12 months. Greater overall satisfaction, on the other hand, was related to having an in-school tutor training or assistance in managing child’s needs or implementing treatments, and having primary care doctor or pediatrician as a source of information on autism. Conclusions: Future efforts to develop ASD-related policies and services should also take the following into consideration: the low level of awareness among caregivers and health care providers about the early signs of autism; disparities in access to services; educational problems and significant levels of dissatisfaction with the overall care and stigma

    DISTRIBUTED TOOL FOR PERFORMANCE TESTING

    No full text
Abstract: Voice and data networks require infrastructure components of highest quality and that is achieved through testing. However, software performance and performance testing have been less studied and reported on. This paper presents the tool developed and used in the performance and stability testing of a networks integration infrastructure. We also report on the experience with our tool and performance problems related to Java. Our findings are based on the work and feedback by the programmers with a solid object-oriented background. Their experience with Java was mixed, but the tool and concepts of distributed programming were new
